107 Lockdown
Welsh borders collective, devoted to the work of A-ha. Morten, if
you're reading this, we are prepared to offer 20% of sales and
royalties. Otherwise, we'll see you in court.
Emotionally charged late-night session. A-ha covered this
Everly Brothers song.
Strangely desperate-sounding, as if performed by someone stuck
down a well. A-ha again.
Quote from unnamed participant: "the
mixture of exhaustion and booze comes across in
spades". Apologies to Neil Young.
Shrewsbury Harmonics Audio Trousers (S.H.A.T.)
The first Jodieteal 'supergroup', combining John Cowen (Shrewsbury
Gentlemen's Luncheon Club), Andrew J. Mason (107 Lockdown) and Iain
Foston (various). The S.H.A.T. boys
see themselves very much as a vocal harmony outfit, emphasised by their
spare instrumental style.
S.H.A.T. take on a true classic using Brian Wilson's
originally-intended vocal parts, scrapped when Capitol Records forced
him toward a more commercial sound.
Big Sammo and the Brownies
Mixture of veterans and first-timers, led by the booming baritone of
Jodieteal debutante Sam Brown.
Sammo and his Brownies present a touching tribute to the
great and frequently late John 'Hippy' Cowen, who has decided to try
and 'break' the Aberdeen music scene, and work
down from there. The rest of us will work up and hopefully meet him
around Kendal, where we'll play platinum-disc-frisbee with local dogs.
John hopes to continue to contribute to Jodieteal with the help of
Royal Mail.
