Clapham Junction and Beyond

This tour took place on 7th May 2004, accompanied by Matt.

Plough, Clapham Junction

2 Pints of Bitter, then a bottle of Ramrod, same for Matt. Matt's friend Mick also had a pint of bitter and some Ramrod.

When I first moved 'down south', I lodged round the corner from The Plough, and popped in occasionally. Always viewed it as a local pub, good for the occasional after hours drink, and well suited to pub backgammon/chess/cribbage. I had forgotten that it has an entertaining Jukebox on the old 20ish albums, 5 tracks for a quid, lots of Meatloaf model.

Not the standard pattern for a Young's pub, but nonetheless easy to get fond of, and one of the only acceptable establishments in the area.

Brewer's Inn, Wandsworth

Pint of 'Triple A'. or 'AAA'. Bit of a mistake, tasted like creamflow or some such. Matt had something much nicer, which I have forgotten.

Big comfy chairs, genuine feel. Very near the brewery. Unless that was the Spread Eagle - I can't remember.

Spread Eagle, Wandsworth

We each had a bottle of Double Chocolate Stout.

Not mad about this one. MTV or some such on the plasma screen, which I don't think should be allowed. I subscribe to the 'major sports events only' view of pub telly.
